The Wider shipyard, based in Fano, Italy, continues construction of its WiderCat 76 catamaran. This model features a hybrid propulsion system, refined aesthetics and living spaces optimized for comfort and versatility. Here's a look at the construction stages and features that define this vessel.
Hybrid propulsion for sustainable navigation
The WiderCat 76 is equipped with two electric motors developing 456 kW each, combined with a new-generation battery system. Managed by an advanced Power Management System, this system ensures environmentally-friendly navigation. This hybrid system enables the boat to reach a maximum speed of 13 knots and to remain at anchor for 9 hours without using the engines, thus limiting noise pollution and emissions.
Design and construction: combining innovation and craftsmanship
Entrusted to Luca Dini Design & Architecture and Wider's Centro Stile, the design of the WiderCat 76 embodies a modern, functional style. The site completed the main GRP structures, as well as the installation of the bridge and superstructure. Work on the hydraulic, water and fuel systems is well advanced. The interior is beginning to take shape, combining top-of-the-range materials with a warm, "Hampton"-inspired ambience.
Amenities: luxury and conviviality on board
The interior layout of the WiderCat 76 features a four-cabin configuration, designed with families and groups of friends in mind. The main deck features a saloon with large panoramic windows, an L-shaped sofa and an elegant dining room. The owner's suite offers private access to a forward terrace and a luxurious bathroom. Cabins on the lower deck guarantee comfort and privacy for guests, while a spacious galley facilitates socializing.
Outdoor spaces: optimized outdoor living
The WiderCat 76 offers generous, well-designed outdoor areas. The upper deck combines a helm station, sheltered dining and relaxation areas. The main deck features a deployable swim platform, a cockpit equipped for meals, and a relaxation area at the bow, complete with C-shaped sofas.
A glimpse into the future of hybrid catamarans
The future looks bright for Wider, with projects such as the WiLder 60 and Moonflower 72. What remains to be seen are the next steps for the WiderCat 76, expected on the water in 2025.
