Seldén masts, excellence in every detail

At Seldén, every rig is carefully designed, from the choice of materials to the manufacturing process. All elements contribute to the rig's overall performance. At every stage, the experience of experienced sailors ensures optimum quality and performance.

Standard masts

SELDEN offers its range of masts YACHT designed to equip sailboats from 26 to 80 feet. The design of the mast profiles has been studied to optimize longitudinal inertias, allowing better forestay tension and limiting movement in heavy seas or under reduced sail. These good inertias improve mast stability, and therefore the performance of your boat, while contributing to the longevity of the equipment.

What's more, the YACHT has been enriched with new sections LMP with wider masts to better support side loads. This addition enables SELDEN to offer you a mast perfectly adapted to your boat, combining increased strength and reduced weight.

All mast profiles in the range YACHT are designed to accommodate internal carts on wheels, allowing you to hoist your mainsail with ease, without the need to invest in an expensive system.

To meet the needs of all types of sailboats, the range of profiles SELDEN is completed by the KEELBOAT range, whose mast profiles and parts are particularly well-suited to boats up to 28 feet. The range KEELBOAT optimizes the stability of small sailboats, while at the same time providing them with specific parts, designed using feedback from experience gained on larger units.

Follow-up is key at SELDEN each mast is engraved with a serial number, as are all the fittings mounted on it. This solution guarantees complete traceability and simplified access to spare parts via our worldwide network of partners SELDEN .

Winding masts

Winding masts Seldén offer vertical winding for easy maneuvering in all conditions. The winding system is based on proven technology from Seldén . The geared furling winch with ball bearings reduces the effort required to furl your mainsail.

In addition, the furling luff extrusion is fixed at the masthead and held under tension by a turnbuckle, centering the furling tube in the mast and eliminating extraneous noise. This system is completed by a halyard swivel equipped with ball bearings and a patented load distributor, making furling quick and easy.

Furling mast profiles are designed with a wide sail entry slot, allowing the use of mainsails with vertical battens. This means that the positive leech is no longer reserved exclusively for classic mainsails.

Seldén also offers an electric furling system synchronized with the E40i winch, allowing easy sail handling at the touch of a button. Ideal for small crews!

Carbon masts

All over the world, whether in dinghies, keelboats or yachts, the advantages of Seldén carbon rigs have won over yachtsmen and cruisers alike.

  • Carbon masts are lighter: lightening the rig improves righting torque by reducing pitching for superior performance and more comfortable sailing.
  • Carbon masts are stiffer: better control of the hanger improves the sail's profile and reduces forestay cant for greater performance and a better upwind heading.

Manufactured by programmed filament winding on a male mandrel, Seldén carbon masts combine lightness, strength and a unique "snakeskin" design. As well as being high-performance, our masts are also aesthetically pleasing. Every year, Seldén produces over 400 carbon masts, as well as booms, spinnakers and bowsprits for racing and cruising yachts.

Masts for dinghies

Seldén has strengthened its dinghy range by working closely with top-level racers, guaranteeing masts that combine innovation and performance. Designed with state-of-the-art software and manufactured with extreme precision, these masts, also available in carbon versions, are of the same quality as those used by world champions.

By combining technical expertise and attention to detail, Seldén has established itself as a world leader, offering rigs that optimize both performance and sailing pleasure.
