Duracell project: First details of the yacht's layout

Matt continues work on the Duracell doghouse area. Between the meters of laminated joints, it's an opportunity to look at the details of the boat's layout: lighting, fargues... and to reminisce about sailing.

Miles of stratification!

When it comes to assembling Duracell's landscaping panels, many meters of fiberglass tape have to be laminated at the junction of the various elements. Tedious and not always very telegenic operations... Matt takes advantage of these weeks to talk about various details of the boat's layout.

On the back of the doghouse benches, Matt plans to install a small opening panel, bringing light and ventilation to the shift cabins, located under the benches. A fan will complete the air circulation.

Above the exchange areas built in previous episodes, Matt has rounded off all the corners. While this is positive for fiberglass adhesion and mechanical strength, it complicates the installation of the mahogany fargues he plans to put on the various shelves and worktops. Wondering about these configurations, Matt asks his audience for their opinion.

To round off the video, Matt, Joni and his mom talk about their shared transpacific journey, from Mexico to the Marquesas Islands. From bread-making to golden latte spills and broken coccyxes, there's something for everyone to relate to... and more.
