Duracell project: A changing area for the port cabin

Matt continues to fit out the aft cabins. After some essential finishing touches in the first episode, the second shows the construction of a changing and storage area for the port cabin.

Stratifications to finish

In the first episode, Matt is busy finishing the stratification of the doghouse benches. It's another opportunity to demonstrate the preparation required before composite work. The bunk supports are also finalized in the cabins.

Once all these minor tasks have been completed, Matt, accompanied by two friends, puts the finishing touches to the port water tank. It has to be closed off before the port cabin can be fitted. Particular attention is paid to epoxy impregnation and the application of a sufficient quantity of filled epoxy for bonding, to ensure that the tank is watertight. All corners are then laminated.

A changing area for the cabin

In today's second episode, it's time to complete the aft port cabin with a private space for changing, and storing clothes and equipment. As the sleeping area doesn't allow you to stand up, a small additional space is added in front, where you can sit down, but also stand up.

After a precise mannequin to facilitate the cutting of the final parts, and the possibility of adjusting the geometry drawn on the computer by confronting it with reality, Matt can manufacture the partitions. He also makes the cupboards.
