RM 650 Exclusive: a comfortable Croatian RIB with welcoming curves

In the plethoric RIB market, the Cannes boat show was an opportunity to discover the Croatian shipyard Ris Marine, whose RM 650 Exclusive offers a layout and style that stands out with a slightly retro look.

A semi-rigid with curves

Among the multitude of RIBs on display in the aisles of the Cannes boat show, the layouts can tend to resemble each other. The curves of the RM 650 Exclusive from the Croatian shipyard Ris Marine caught our eye, in stark contrast to the often stiffer styles of other interiors. The firecracker blue of the upholstery, with its rounded, wrap-around backrests, is also certainly a factor. The Zagreb-based shipyard has built a reputation for itself in professional RIBs, offering expertise in composites and hull design. With a range of yachts with a slightly retro look, it is now increasingly opening up to the leisure market.

A boat for sailing

While many RIBs focus on access to the water via the sundeck, as a platform for leisure activities at sea, the RM 650 Exclusive focuses above all on comfort when sailing and on the water. Two small aft platforms flanking the outboard motor allow for diving, but access is not necessarily easy from the cockpit.

On the other hand, the rear bench, with its side returns, is very comfortable for passengers. It conceals a good-sized storage compartment.

An elegant console

The pilot will have to make do with a support cushion to brace his loins while steering from a standing position. Opposite him, the console, with its unobtrusive windscreen that may lack a little protection, houses old-fashioned tachometers in keeping with the boat's style, as well as all the necessary controls.

Farniente and finishing touches

The front of the console incorporates an attractive seat, again with generous returns on the sides, to keep the passenger firmly seated and facing the road.

The attractive U-shaped bench seat at the front can be transformed into a sun lounger with the addition of a central cushion.

Whether on the console or in the bow, stainless steel handrails ensure safe movement. Whether it's the Tek Dek deck covering or the high-gloss black finish of the composite parts, the quality of the fittings is second to none.

The RM 650 Exclusive is priced from ?30,000 ex VAT, bareboat. The version shown, with a 150 hp Honda outboard, was priced at ?63,400 ex VAT.
