Profiles for all sailboats
Seldén offers 2 types of standard profiles: longitudinally or laterally oriented. Profiles are available for yachts from 26 to 80 feet. The choice of profile depends on the angle and number of mast spreaders.
For light keelboats - the intermediate size between dinghy and yacht according to Seldén - the Group offers seven different aluminum profiles. These profiles represent a multitude of solutions for sailors. The profiles are extruded, anodized and can be offered with a swaged upper section.
Furling mast, stowing the mainsail inside the mast
The Seldén in-mast furling system is designed to reduce friction to a minimum, making it easy to furl and unfurl the mainsail. Sailing alone or with a small crew becomes child's play!
Pleasant, easy, efficient, simple: these are the words that define the Seldén furling mast.
The wide furling slot allows the use of vertical battens and a positive leech on the mainsail. This sail shape, unique to the Seldén in-mast furler, allows mainsail surfaces similar to those of a conventional mainsail. The effective slot is asymmetrical to reduce resistance during furling and guide the sail along the inside of the mast track.
The in-mast furling system, with its unique 90° cardan drive system, ensures easy maneuverability thanks to an endless line that unfurls or furls the sail from the cockpit. The system can also be operated from the mast foot using a winch crank.
Easy electrification
To facilitate sail handling in small crews, the electric furling mast can be synchronized with an E40i electric winch on which the foot is mounted. At the touch of a single button, the winch will automatically regulate the tension of the foot while the mast is furling or unfurling the mainsail.
Converting a manual Seldén furling mast to electric is relatively straightforward. In most cases, all you need to do is connect a motor to the existing manual system. The mast can still be operated manually by disengaging the motor.
