Duracell Project: Between ship design and lamination work

As the sometimes repetitive layering work progresses, Matt also looks in more detail at Duracell's future development plans.

Necessary stratification work

Matt continues with the ballast tank project. Like the rest of the boat's refit, it requires a lot of small layering work, with the inevitable and sometimes tiring sessions of sanding and impregnating the various fiberglass fabrics. However, the process continues to be optimized and Matt is also making some changes while working on the front cabin. Anticipating the future paint job, he tests the coating on the ceiling and the wall edges.

Projecting yourself in the development

But the refit also takes place behind the computer when designing the layout of the yacht. With the help of Markos, a Greek naval architect, Matt shows us the 3D modeling of the interior of the future Duracell, from the doghouse to the cabins, including the kitchen, the chart table and the saloon. The problems of storage, headroom and the passage of networks are discussed in turn to ensure that the right choice is made for future sailings.

If the plan is not set in stone, Matt can nevertheless better project himself in his future sailboat.
