Thomas Ruyant's new IMOCA is revealed in a perfectly executed teaser!

Before the launch of his new IMOCA Advens, scheduled for Thursday, March 16, 2023, Thomas Ruyant and his team have unveiled a superb teaser video of the boat's design. The production is of high level, proof of the quality of communication sought by ocean racing teams today.

Thomas Ruyant is one of the leading sailors in the IMOCA class: 4th in the 2020-2021 Vendée Globe, winner of the 2021 Transat Jacques Vabre and the 2022 Route du Rhum on his IMOCA LinkedOut, a Verdier design, sistership of Apivia. After an incredible season, and to put all the chances on his side, he will take the start of the next Vendée Globe 2024 on a new boat, Advens. For this new boat, the skipper from the north of France has entrusted the design to Antoine Koch and Finot-Conq and the construction to CDK Technologies.

On Thursday, March 16 in Lorient, the skipper and his team will launch this new boat after 50,000 hours of work. And while waiting to discover this new design, the team has unveiled a teaser video to present the new Advens. For some time now, ocean racing teams have been focusing on quality communication, and this video is proof of that. In 2 minutes, the team reveals the assembly of the different parts of the boat in 3D.

It features a spatulate bow, a flush deck that is slightly domed in the spirit of the IMOCA Paprec Arkea, a feature that allows water to be evacuated more easily. Like its competitors, the maneuvering area is totally protected by the roof, but with less opening areas than on some models recently launched.
