A still very young history
The Italia Yachts shipyard started in 2011 near Venice, Italy. The first model of sailing boat, the IY 10.98 was presented at the Genoa boat show for the first time. This model that launched the range is no longer in the catalog today. However, already designed by the in-house architect Matteo Polli, it was an elegant sailboat with a high-performance hull and classic shapes. This positioning of sailing yachts with a timeless elegance still guides the new developments of this shipyard, which now calls upon the architectural firm Cossutti Yacht Design, for a new technological step even more advanced, but still oriented towards performance.
Moving in 2022
After an extension of the premises on the original site, it is finally a few kilometers away, in Castelvecchio, that the yard is established. The growth and the increase in the size of the models required larger premises. Indeed, the range today is declined in 6 models going from 10 to 21 meters.
High-end construction by craftsmen
Each sailboat is designed as a regatta boat. It is built with care and rigor to offer rigidity and performance. The Italia Yachts are above all designed to race in the ORC class. The IY 11.98 has taken all the first places in the ORC world championships in 2019 and 2022. Proof if it were needed of the performance of these yachts.
A weight respected to the gram
For this reason, the weight estimate at construction is respected to the gram. The Italia Yachts are very light yachts with a sandwich hull under infusion, and very rigid with a composite truss that supports the keel and the mast.
Regatta and cruise
If the Italia Yachts are units turned towards performance and racing, this necessarily makes them very good cruising yachts. A variation with the modification of the piano that leaves the deckhouse to be on the coamings is also proposed in the catalog.
A growing construction site
In 2022, Italia Yachts has produced 28 units and 120 boats have left the yard since its creation. But for 2023, after the installation in the new premises, it is the construction of 53 units that is programmed by the 55 workers who constitute the factory.
