Duracell Project: Start of the manufacturing of the front cabin

Matt begins to tackle the layout of Duracell to give this former ocean racing yacht the comfort of a cruiser. To start, he will create the volumes of the front cabin.

Dismantling of the floors

To accommodate the weather, Matt wants to be able to work inside his Duracell sailboat. Before he has completely enclosed his new roof, he also prefers to bring in the large rooms. So he began working on the layout of the front cabin of the sailboat.

He begins by cutting out the fixed floors to ensure the condition of the bottoms. Beyond a dried out rat, there are no unpleasant surprises. With new removable floors, Matt will be able to store equipment while sailing.

Laminate to the ceiling

He then makes a small lamination on the ceiling, where he had plugged old deck panels. The exercise requires a good impregnation beforehand so that the glass fabrics hold in place before the vacuum.

Preparation of the wall

Matt then used the same method he had used for the previous bulkheads to measure the dimensions of the future bulkhead separating the forward cabin from the saloon with a pencil. After adjusting the core panels on the boat, he decided to laminate the bulkhead on both sides in a single vacuum.

At the end of the second episode of the day, the cabin now has the final volume. However, some details still need to be confirmed.
