Special Edition / Lopolight: Efficient, elegant and robust LED navigation lights

Lopolight is a pioneer in LED navigation lights. Between technical development and design, its products remain references for equipping your boat in a reliable and energy-efficient way, in compliance with the regulations.

All the advantages of LED light

Lopolight was born in 2006 after the experience of its founder Jan Moller on a solo round-the-world trip. Convinced of the importance of limiting the consumption of navigation lights, he founded the company with engineer Peter Hancke to create Lopolight LED navigation lights. First on the market, he starts from scratch to imagine his product based on technology and not simply as a replacement for a classic incandescent bulb.

Since then, he has continued to optimize the product to achieve a consumption almost 90% lower than that of a conventional fire. It has a lifetime of 50,000 hours, the equivalent of 11 years of continuous use, while maintaining its high brightness thanks to internal software that adapts to the evolution of consumption in the life of the LED and the available voltage. "It is also an advantage in terms of safety. Where we used to turn off an anchor light that consumes 10 to 20W on a sailboat around 1 to 2 a.m. to save on the battery, we will leave the Lopolight that consumes only 3W all night long" explains Mike Booth, Lopolight's sales manager.

Robust and elegant design

Designed in machined aluminum, the fire block is virtually unbreakable. Fully waterproof thanks to a specific resin inside the light, it meets IP68 standards. Significantly less sensitive to vibrations than a filament bulb, Lopolight lights are extremely robust and find their place on board fast motor boats as well as sailing boats.

Much smaller than a traditional light, the Lopolight is only 25 mm high, allowing it to be discreet and blend in with the boat's design. The risk of being damaged by sheets or passengers is extremely reduced.

Delivered with screws and requiring cables of smaller sections in view of consumption, the installation of Lopolight navigation lights is facilitated. The 700 possible combinations of size and color make it possible to meet all the needs with a small number of lights on board. "For a yacht up to 20 meters, we can meet the regulations with only 3 lamps" says Mike Booth.

Quality and regulation

The lights proposed by Lopolight for pleasure craft are identical to those used in the professional marine. They meet the strictest standards and are certified by MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency), USCG (US Coastguard), DNV (Det Norske Veritas), ABS (American bureau of shipping).

Product quality is controlled at all stages of production, including a 24-hour ignition test before packaging.

At a time of energy savings, Lopolight has many arguments to seduce boaters.
