Web series / Preparation for the off-race qualification for Grégoire Chéron

In this 7th episode, Grégoire Chéron presents his preparation for his 1,000-mile off-race qualification to compete in the Mini Transat 2021.

Grégoire Chéron (Mini 887) will start the Mini Transat 2021. He shares in video his preparation for the future transatlantic race that he will do solo on his Mini 6.50. But before this great race, he must first complete a qualifying course of 1,000 miles out of the race, between Concarneau - his home port in Finistère - Ireland, the island of Ré and again Concarneau.

But when you think of a 1,000-mile solo race, you think of preparation. And before anything else, you have to start with the boat. He went to Ino-Rope, a specialist in ropes and lines, to change a halyard, and to All Purpose, a sailmaker, to whom he entrusted the design and assembly of a new sail.

After the preparation of the boat, it's time to prepare the sailor. Because you have to eat well during the navigation. We headed to Lorient to the freeze-dried food specialist to stock up for 15 days of sailing. The advantage of freeze-dried food is the lightness of the sachets, which will just need to be rehydrated with water.
