Marlec, a hybrid charge regulator for clean energies

To complete its offer of recharging by wind turbine, the Marlec company is launching a hybrid charge regulator to accept wind turbines and solar panels. A new model to discover for the 2021 season.

Marlec is an English company that has been manufacturing wind turbines (used for both nautical and terrestrial applications) since 1978. Sailors know this product under the name of Rutland with a range of 3 models whose use varies according to the size of the boat and the energy needs.

For 2021, it completes its range with a hybrid charge regulator that operates on 12 or 24 V. It is designed to regulate the load of the Rutland 504 and Rutland 914i wind turbines, with the addition of a second input for connecting up to 160 W (at 12 V) of solar panels (320 W at 24 V). This HRDi type is compatible with all batteries, including the lithium batteries increasingly used on sailing and motorboats for their ability to pay for their full charge.

On its front LCD screen, it indicates the charge of 2 separate battery banks. This new regulator is already available at 249 euros (incl. VAT).
