Web series / Bye bye Spain for Nomad Citizen Sailing

Nomad Citizen Sailing concludes its visit to Spain. Before setting sail in the Bay of Biscay, the crew is enjoying one last trip ashore. But Spain doesn't leave each other like that, the anchor is stuck at the bottom, caught in a rock

The cruise is full of surprises. When it's not a technical problem, it's the weather that's not right. In this upwind journey along Spain towards France, Marvin and Daniela accompanied by their little daughter Tara, the crew of Nomad Citizen Sailing are also paying the price.

As the yacht arrives in Galicia with a very light wind forcing hours of motoring, they are anchored not far from Gijon. An anchorage taken during the night for which they had to regain three times. But as they leave, it is impossible to weigh anchor, as it is stuck around a rock. Luckily Marvin likes freediving and dives several times and succeeds in unblocking it. No doubt that the use of an orin would have allowed a simpler start..

The stopovers are a good time for discovery, time for a drink or a meal in this welcoming country that is Spain. And for Tara, it's also a chance to run and play. The space on a sailing boat does not allow these escapades.

From now on, in front of the bow of the yacht is the Bay of Biscay. A 250-mile crossing that the crew hopes to complete in about 40 hours. To facilitate Tara's management, they have decided to leave in the evening and thus sail 2 nights for a single day at sea.
