Discovery / Bavaria SR41, a modern and clever star

The latest motor boat model from the German manufacturer Bavaria is a great success. The SR41 has a modern design and an innovative and comprehensive layout.

At the crossroads between the S and R ranges

The Bavaria SR41 is an 11.65 m (hull length) hard-top speedboat launched in early 2020 by the German manufacturer Bavaria. The latter combines the spirit of both the S and R ranges. While the S range was available in three versions - Open, Hard-Top and Coupé - the German shipyard did without the first one (with roll-bar) for this new model. The SR41, which is currently available as a hard-top, will now also be available as a coupé.

Coupé Version

"Bavaria has returned to its roots by reintroducing this sunbathing place facing the sea with large chests underneath. The latest models in the S range no longer had this layout, but offered more cockpit space" explains Pascal Robache, sales manager of Evasion Yachting, importer Bavaria.

The Bavaria SR41 takes the more Italian design and contemporary style of the R range, especially in the materials.

Large lockers and cockpit spaces

In order not to lose cockpit space, the manufacturer has placed its sunbathing area directly above the transom, which was not the case on previous models. Indeed, the latter had a small end of bathing platform and the bathing platform was optional. The bathing platform is now standard on the SR41, which allowed the sunbathing area to be moved as far forward as possible towards the sea.

The cockpit layout is similar to that of the recent S range models.

A beautiful multifunctional outdoor space

If the Bavarian manufacturer has reintroduced this sunbed with trunk, it has integrated an innovation. Indeed, this module facing the sea offers many uses: U-shaped saloon with a central table, multi-position backrest to enlarge the sundeck or create a bench facing the cockpit. Under the cushions are three large, easily accessible lockers. It is easy to transform the saloon into a sundeck by simply slipping the cushion over the table like a sock.

Square dining version

The two of us can enjoy a drink with a view to the sea and in numbers we will dine on the large cockpit table (which folds out), comfortably seated in the L-shaped bench seat. Thanks to the addition of a board and cushion on the port side it will be possible to connect the two benches to make one. An outside kitchenette allows you to enjoy a plancha and a sink. However, it will be necessary to revise the closing system of the galley hood, which has no place to avoid pinching your fingers.

A main bridge designed for idleness

At the front is a beautiful, spacious and modern cockpit, with a screen whose installation is reminiscent of a car, but slightly obstructs the view. Opposite, a double co-driver's bench seat is coupled directly with a sunbathing area, installed under the windshield.

An elegant cockpit

The latter brings a lot of light inside as well as a beautiful view forward. The electric hard-top opens completely to take advantage of the sun and ventilation when sailing.

The foredeck houses a large sunbathing area, accessible via walkways secured by handrails on the roof.

A spacious and well-appointed interior

Below deck, the SR41 offers a very large living space with a beautiful galley on starboard and a U-shaped saloon on port as well as two beautiful double cabins (one forward and the transverse owner's cabin aft) and two head compartments, one with a separate shower (the one in the owner's cabin), a nice layout in a 40-foot motoryacht and never seen before in the S range.

So, with this complete below-deck layout, you can enjoy your boat while staying warm inside. The companionway down to the lower deck is also pleasant to use. The headroom is important and the side windows provide welcome light.
