Test / Fitting out the Sun Odyssey 410, a highly modular offer

Before setting sail for the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410, we now listed the different layout configurations: 2 or 3 cabins and 1 or 2 bathrooms as well as a very innovative remote saloon, are distributed level by level over the entire edge without door sill.

The very accessible technique

The bottoms of modern sailboats are nowadays very dressed, nevertheless Jeanneau on the Sun Odyssey 410 has preserved a good accessibility to the technical organs that it is necessary to manipulate from time to time. The water unit is mounted on a special console. The circuit breaker panel has its own equipment. It should also be noted that the deck recess at the level of the gangways does not take up any useful space in the rear cabins: a win-win solution.

A smart meridian

The saloon is moved to starboard. Opposite it, a bench seat installed with the galley's back turned into either a chaise longue or a bed. An irresistible location with a good book. The optional folding table allows you to invite many guests without having the mast sponge in the middle. This creates a cozy atmosphere, but it hinders forward movement if everyone is at the table. The table can be fitted with telescopic legs to become a double berth. In the lifting keel version, the meridian is enlarged with a bench seat that hides the hydraulic mechanism and reduces the square by the same amount.

The galley is a small piece of bravery by the designer, Jean-Marc Piaton. Located in the center of the boat, it has countless storage spaces accessible without moving from the central station. You can settle down when the boat is heeled and cook on the XXL worktops that surround it. The only drawback is that its design is more suitable for the hostess than for a group of friends.

The two aft cabins of the tested version share a bathroom on starboard. In the version with only one aft cabin, there is a wet dock and a huge hold accessible from the inside. At the front, there is either a 1.50 m wide island bed and large closets, but we preferred the version with the bed moved diagonally. Not only can you sleep while sailing, but the headboard has a practical bookcase and above all you can enjoy a bathroom with a personal toilet.

Warm marine atmosphere

Headroom is comfortable throughout the boat with almost 1.90 m in the cabins and almost 2.00 m in the saloon. Nostalgic sailors are spoiled here by a large leather-upholstered eagle chart table. The drawers of the central island are accessible and a mini bookcase allows to store guides and books. The storage space is spacious and compartmentalized: no less than 14 compartments in the saloon alone! The color and rounded finish of the Fine Teak woodwork are warm enough to provide a warm, yet modern atmosphere.
