Designer Max Zhivov specializes in boat design, especially houseboat design. Its latest project, the Tiny eco hotel, is an ecological hotel whose objective is to bring people closer to nature.
This hotel, which consists of two modules, can be located in any protected water body: lakes, fjords or coastal bays. There is a "small house" of 4.5 x 3 m fixed on the ground and a house-boat that can be added to the house or used alone to spend a day sailing and enjoy the joys of water. Moored at home, the house-boat transforms into a large open balcony.
In the small house which can accommodate 4 people, there is a kitchen and toilets. On the floating house - 4.5 x 10 m - the main deck is a large open space with a kitchen and separate toilet under the stairs. Upstairs, outdoors, the roof is covered with a natural covering of sand, grass or pebbles and serves as a sunbathing platform.
The glass panes of the structure have been coloured to provide an "interesting filter effect" on the perception of the surrounding nature.
The house-boat is equipped with electric motors to produce a minimum of alteration with nature. For an easy use and open to the greatest number of people, it will be driven without a pilot. All you have to do is choose a GPS point on the map via the dedicated application and go there with the help of your smartphone. This is where we see the limits of this concept, even though it is a nice one... Because the "boat" will have to be "intelligent" to take into account the dangers on its way (rocks, depths...).
