An Eovolt is an electric bike, foldable and light. That's what sums up this product that will be of interest to boaters once in port. The strength of Eovolt lies in the weight of the bike. While an electric bike often exceeds 20 kg, an Eovolt weighs only 14 kg, battery included. With this controlled weight, it becomes perfectly portable.
An electric motor in the rear wheel
For the 2019 season, the base model Eovolt arrives with new features. If the battery is still integrated in the seat tube (a practical and aesthetic solution), the original model had its motor in the front wheel. From now on, in order to better balance the bike during transport, this motor is now in the rear wheel.
With its small 16" wheels, this bike folds in 3 steps (about 10 seconds). An intermediate step allows you to transform the bike into a kind of caddy that you can push on its wheels and walk beside. It will be practical to circulate in the corridors of a public transport for example.
Suitable for boats
The frame of Eovolt bikes is made of aluminum, the same one used on airplanes. In addition to its weight, it is interesting in boat, because aluminum does not rust. Small detail, this electric bike which has a screen to manage the battery and the level of assistance, is also equipped with a USB plug to recharge its laptop during the journey.
From now on, 2 models are available from Eovolt. The first one, the most basic one (1190 euros) is proposed with a standard electric motor, a sensor to start the assistance on the speed and a metallic transmission chain without speed (turned 52 x 14 which avoids too much grinding with its pedals). The second model is more advanced (1490 euros) and will be more adapted to a use on a boat. Indeed, the chain (which risks to rust) is replaced by a belt and the electric assistance sensor is a torque sensor, much more pleasant when riding the bike.
New colors are also in the 2019 catalog. While the bike only existed in white, it now comes with a charcoal gray, a burgundy red and a sapphire blue. Accessories (basket, luggage rackeuros) also arrive.
