Sailing Kalispera: Goodbye Transat, we're dismasting!

Despite repairs to Kalispera's spreader, it failed and Arnaud and Mélanie had to turn back after 27 hours at sea to reach the Canaries. The bad news is coming, the deckchair will not be for Christmas...

After the breakage of their spreaders, Arnaud and Mélanie had made the necessary repairs to be able to carry out THE transatlantic race. But unfortunately, after 27 hours at sea, they had to turn back to reach the Canaries (from nouveau?!)

After finding a place at the port of Las Palmas, and a second-hand spreader in France (it took 10 days for a new spreader), they are ready to tackle the repairs. But once again, not everything went as planned...

To install the spreader, you have to dismast... Cold shower for everyone and Christmas project in Guadeloupe aborted. So since it is necessary to spend several days in port and dismast to repair, it is better to take advantage of this time to make a major repair. Because the mast foot tends to sink (Sun Odyssey disease explains Arnaud) and it will avoid doing so later.

With 10 days of work, it is therefore impossible to plan a deckchair for Christmas. The latter will take place in France and the big start will take place on the 31st décembre?! A beautiful transition celebrated in mer?!
