From Norway to the West Indies, Maud takes us on a journey with his drawings

A young couple who are leaving to discover the world on a Sea Breeze 31. If the story is already beautiful, it takes on even more charm, told in the form of a living comic book under Maud's pencils. A book that makes you want to cast off to take the time to visit deeply.

The story begins with a large watercolour on a double page depicting a sailboat sailing in front of beautiful green mountains and over many multicoloured fish. As you approach your eyes, you discover the drawing of the North Atlantic coasts. And on top is a black line that traces Cirrus' path.

Cirrus en voyage

Cirrus is a 9 m sailboat, a Sea Breeze 31 designed by Finot and built in aluminium. Not a large yacht capable of facing very heavy seas, but a good simple and seaworthy boat. It is with him that Maud and Jeremy embarked on a 2-year trip around the Atlantic Ocean. A beginning of a journey that heads north around the United Kingdom before heading up to Norway (up to 70° north!). Then the loop goes down and takes the more traditional trade winds route for a transatlantic crossing and a discovery of the West Indies.

Cirrus en voyage

In addition to telling this story with words, Maud, who has a strong pencil stroke, is working on drawing it. In the form of boards that resemble comic strips, it tells us about the "little" adventures of sailing in countries with not always welcoming weather.

The design is simple, not very colourful, but always with very bright colours and above all always very incisive. Maud drags us into his story without taking a glove. With her you will know everything about the pleasures - and the pains - encountered on a long cruise.

This new edition (the first 500 copies of the first edition have all passed), sees texts complete the drawings. They have come to guide the reader through the story.
