Central stopover for a Spanish cruise
Ideally located on the Catalan coast north of Barcelona (22 miles away), Club Nàutic d'Arenys de Mar is just 13 miles from the Costa Brava. A little further away, the famous bay of Roses and the beautiful coves that border Cadaques are just a 100 miles away. Heading south, you head straight for the Balearic Islands and the islands of Mallorca and Menorca. The port of Arenys de Mar offers the greatest security of the entire northern coast of Barcelona.
Close to everything, far from nothing on earth
Arenys de Mar is neither too far nor too close to attractive centres. Barcelona is 40 km away by the N-II road or the C-31 motorway. The train (line R-1) makes the journey to Plaça de Catalunya, in the centre of Barcelona, in 50 minutes.
The Montseny massif is next door, and the Corredor and Montnegre nature parks are just a stone's throw away. Girona is 60 km away and Montserrat is just over an hour away.
Barcelona airport is 56 km away, and Girona-Costa Brava airport is 40 km away (largely served by low-cost airlines).
Services geared towards boaters
Opened in 1952, the Club Nàutic d'Arenys de Mar is open to the general public. From the youngest to the oldest, it seeks to promote maritime culture. A sailing club recognised by the Catalan Sailing Federation organises regattas in light and liveaboard sailing. The club's family atmosphere is conducive to calm, fun and adventure.
This private port with 428 berths is a secure, quiet place with a 24-hour surveillance team. It can accommodate boats up to a maximum length of 24 m. All the services (wifi, water outlet, fuel...) are available to yachtsmen. =A laundry service and even catering on board can also be ordered!
The Nautic club has a restaurant and a bar for the comfort of its users. Showers and a changing room are also available. Outside, 2 swimming pools (one of 25 x 12 meters and the other for children) border a solarium.
A very present local gastronomy
In Arenys it is good to eat local products, especially those from the sea. So in the restaurant or on the market stalls you can find squid, langoustines, prawns and Sonso (a small fish that looks like a sand lance and is caught with a bow called a sansera on the shore).
Finally, for dessert, the "coquetes" from Arenys are puff pastries covered with caramelised sugar in the oven, oval and elongated in shape, which crisp under the tooth.
Large development projects
The Yacht Club d'Arenys de Mar obtained the concession for the management of the marina 25 years ago. The renewal of this new concession is linked to a project of modernisation and optimisation of the installations. These actions will start in 2018 and will be carried out in several phases with an overall budget of 6.2 million euros.
Beginning in October 2018, work will begin on the waterfront of the port with the renovation of berths and the increase in the number of berths to 374 from 8.50 to 26m.
