What products do you use?
We have a whole range of products to clean the interior and exterior of the boat. These are products that don't rinse off. We spray a product, rub, brush, and with the help of specific microfibre cloths that are cleaned at the agency and then reused, we rinse the boat.
Gel coat, stainless steel, hull and all transparent surfaces, as well as exterior and interior fabrics can be washed without water. We treat all materials of the boat, interior carpets, walnut interiors, carbon structures.
And there is no risk to the boat or to the water repellency for example. These are the same materials used in the cars we have been cleaning without water for 15 years.
The only product we have developed is a specific cleaner for teak decks, which we could not clean with the existing range of products. It is organic and marine approved. It allows you to clean the deck without rinsing and to be in good standing with the environment, without having to discharge into the sea.
What services do you provide?
We move to where the boat is - in the harbour, on the water, in a garage... We provide a cleaning service out of the water or on the water. It all depends on the owner's needs.
The boat can be cleaned before wintering and for relaunching, as well as regular maintenance. We go to the client's home or to the place where the boat is stored to make an estimate and depending on the services required - relaunching, winter storage and/or regular maintenance - we propose a price.
How long does a performance last?
It can take between 1 hour and 2 days, depending on the type of boat, the size of the boat and the service provided. There's no such disparity in the automobile. We did cleanings on a 35 m last month and they spent 2 days with 2 people.
For example, let's take the case of an 8/9 m semi-rigid. We are going to use a cleaning product with specific microabrasive brushes to revive/renovate the colour of the socks, clean the inner hull, all this while using only 300 to 500 ml of product... We are going to spend between 3 and 4 hours, use 3 different products and it is a service that will be worth about 350 euros.
But in 95% of the cases, our services are carried out on estimate. On average, we are about 50 euros per m and it takes about 500 euros for a 10-15 m boat.
What is the interest for the yachtsman to use Cosmeticar besides the ecological aspect?
The ecological aspect is a plus and it is also an ethical value that is transmitted to the client. It is an advantage in the boating world, but it is not a criterion of choice ( NDRL: Cosmeticar saves between 2000 and 3000 L of water per boat wash ). But what is important for them is the quality of the work done and the price of the service.
