Rainman has launched pretty little blue boxes (the colour of water) that produce fresh water from sea water: desalinators. A watermaker on a boat is often a fixed piece of machinery filled with pipes, pumps and filters that are incomprehensible to the novice. Rainman came up with the idea of putting all the mechanics used to produce water in a box.

One watermaker in two suitcases
It is very simple to use. On one side the high pressure pump with its motor (thermal or electric in 220 V or 12 V), on the other side the diaphragms (26-34 l/h, 50-70 l/h or 100-140 l/h). The connection between the two is made by a simple quick coupling. Once the motor is running, the desalination produces fresh water.
Depending on the model, this engine is either a small petrol engine, a 220 V electric motor or a 12 V electric motor. All the interest of the product lies in its autonomy. Indeed, without any complex installation, it produces fresh water up to 140L/h. The watermaker can even be used from one side to the other without any problem or if you wish to install it in a fixed installation, all the accessories are provided.

Simple, reliable and without electronics
For a serene use, Rainman has chosen simple and proven components for the construction of its device. No electronic box that breaks down, only known and standard material for which consumables are easily found. The combustion engine is a Honda GX 50, a 4-stroke petrol engine used for many other purposes. The high pressure pump is a General Pump, the feeding pump is a Jabsco, the membranes and the prefilter are standard. This makes low cost maintenance easy all over the world.

Distributed by ATMB in France
This product made in Australia is distributed in France by ATMB Marine at a price lower than a fixed desalination. Once its engine is chosen, it is available in three versions, 26-34 L/ h- 50-70 litres per hour or 100-140 litres per hour. The difference between the 2 volumes (26 or 34, 50 or 70, 100 or 140) depends on the water temperature. There is also an optional kit for desalination of brackish water. This simple device is supplied with a rinsing kit to be carried out before storing it over a long period of time to prevent the development of bacteria (like all desalinators).

An extra pressure washer
A watermaker is equipped with a high pressure pump. By adapting a lance (kit provided as an option) on the Rainman, you can obtain a high pressure cleaner (Karcher type) that works with sea water. This can be interesting for cleaning a deck or cockpit. A little extra product that can be useful.
