Since 2009, the Nice Côte d'Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Direction des Ports) has been mobilizing its teams, particularly seasonal workers, to reach out to yachtsmen and encourage them to respect the environment. This operation is in place throughout the summer (July and August 2017), when the use of the ports is at its peak.
This grouping includes :
- the port of Nice
- the Port Vauban in Antibes
- the Old Port of Cannes
- the port of Villefranche
- the Old Port of Golfe Juan
This year, Matt Chem is joining this initiative, which is in line with environmental protection.
For some years now, this manufacturer of environmentally friendly cleaning products (easily biodegradable products) has been providing technical port services. If professionals use Matt Chem products, it makes sense to advise them to boaters.
The "Green Flag" is a charter that the yachtsman, whether resident or passing through the port, undertakes to respect in his use of the sea. Boaters who accept the approach receive a commitment card with the right gestures to have in favour of the environment. A flyer presenting the "environment" services of the port is also given to the yachtsmen (clean points and waste sorting, rental or provision of electrically assisted bicycles, waste water pump...).
In exchange for his commitment, the yachtsman receives a gift bag with Matt Chem cleaning products:
- A sample of seawater special body shampoo: AQUASALE
- A sample of concentrated dishwashing liquid special for seawater: AQUASALE V
- A sample of concentrated enzymatic hull and deck shampoo: ENZY WASH
Through this project, Matt Chem's goal is to make boaters understand that the use of caustic, chlorinated, acid or soda-based products is to be banned. Especially on a boat that contaminates waste water.
By having the samples available, you will be able to see the effectiveness of the cleaning products and be sure not to pollute. Matt Chem strives to include in its chemical formulations cleaning agents selected for their biodegradability and their easily renewable origin, as well as combinations of enzymes that facilitate cleaning and the degradability of waste.
