Vagnon Publishing publishes the famous Vagnon Code for the learning of boat permits, but this publishing house also offers a whole collection of educational books in all fields of boating.
The book"Understanding the sea and sailing in 35 experiences and games" is part of this collection. This book, which is aimed at 9-13 year olds, was produced following a simple observation by its author:"During the preparation of our Atlantic sailing tour, with my family, I desperately looked for an educational book, but also a fun book about the sea and sailing. A book that would mix pedagogy and experience, a practical book that my children could easily handle in the saloon as well as in the cockpit, a book to support our on-board library... I never found it!"
The book with a hardened cardboard cover explains wind, clouds, sailing and sailing. These themes are easier to understand when you know that the mother author and also weather trainer at the National Sailing School... But she also explains the quality and relevance of the content. Each part is explained and provides easy experiments to understand the physical mechanisms. Games at the end brighten up the theme. A story of a few pages completes the problem.
All the subjects are clearly explained, but above all illustrated by two illustrators who have done a remarkable job: both aesthetic and explanatory.
While children will be happy to find this book on board, adults will also find answers to some questions as they navigate. An ideal family book before going to sea this summer.
