Jeanneau completes its bowrider range

Leader 5.5 BR to the Nautic 2016

Jeanneau launched its new Leader Bow Rider range at the end of 2016. After the 6.5 BR (6.74 m) presented at the Grand Pavois, the French brand presented its little brother, the 5.5 BR (5.50 m) at the Nautic in Paris. A small bowrider suitable for both family and sport sailing, with plenty of room for comfort, despite its small size.

The Leader 5.5 BR has the same characteristics as its big brother, the 6.5 BR, and has the same sailing programme: family sailing and leisure at sea. This new 5.50 m long model is designed on the same hull as the Leader 5.5.

It takes up the attributes of the Leader 6.5 BR, i.e. a central passageway that fluidifies the circulation between the front and rear cockpits. At the bow, the cockpit houses a U-shaped cockpit saloon with a meridian, whose small table transforms the whole into a sunbathing area. An exit step on the starboard side allows you to enter or leave the boat. The bowrider-type wrap-around windshield protects the double-console helm station, where storage space is available. The pilot sits on the starboard side in a boslter chair for sitting or standing (thanks to the raisable seats).

At the stern, a bench seat takes place across the entire width of the boat, whose backrest tilts to reveal a bimini stowed in the trunk below. Unfolded, it transforms the aft cockpit into a second sunbathing area. Platforms on each side of the outboard engine facilitate access to the water, notably the starboard platform with its swim ladder.

This small bow-rider allows you to sail with your family, with many comfortable spaces and several sunbathing areas. The forward cockpit is well protected by the high handrails and the separation door with the aft cockpit. The wrap-around windscreen protects and secures the aft cockpit while the large bench seat closes off the rear of the boat. Fishermen will also find advantages with the central passageway that makes it easy to move around on board. Finally, for water sports enthusiasts, a ski arch can be installed as an option.
