Django 7.70 boosted, a sailboat designed for the lake

Django 770 Lake version

With 50 Django 7.70 already delivered, the Marée Haute shipyard continues to develop this model. Coming in early 2017, a lake version particularly boosted.

At the request of a Swiss customer - incidentally owner of the sailmaker Boite à Voiles (www.voilerie.ch) - the shipyard Marée Haute has developed a "Lake" version for the Django 7.70. Even if the 7.70 is already sailing on Lake Geneva (4 copies have already been sold in Switzerland), this new version will be hyper-boosted. It has been developed with a fine connoisseur of navigation in these very special waters.

The first Django 7.70 had just a mast lengthened by 0.50 m without any other change. This time, the mast will be 1.50 m longer... In comparison, the yacht with its staysail (small jib) and 1 reefed mainsail will have as much sail area as the classic version!

To do this, the yard worked with VMG Soromap to develop a mast with two levels of pushing spreaders and a jib to carry downwind sails at the head. The boom is also longer and the horn bigger. For its part, the Swiss sailmaker has designed a panel of sails for light airs with a Code 0, a gennaker and a downwind spinnaker. Enough to compete in all conditions.

The yard has voluntarily worked on an aluminium mast, keeping carbon out of the way, to stay within a reasonable budget. The price difference between the classic version and the lake version will not exceed 3000 euros (excluding sails). Already other prospects seem to be interested in the project and the yard will propose this version to its catalogue. The first copy will be delivered in February 2017.
