The trophy returns to the Thélier house

After a year of absence, Claude Thélier celebrated his return to the Tour de Guadeloupe in traditional sailing. The one who had already achieved the double in 2013 and 2014 returns in force and wins the 2016 event on canoe MAT SIWPWIZ LA âeuros Orange Sopimat. Jean - Félix Forbin, son of one of the main builders ranks second, followed by Carl Chipotel.

Beautiful pictures and supporters on the beaches

The event, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2016, once again attracted many supporters on the Guadeloupean beaches, at the start and finish, who came to support the boats of their cities. The spectators could admire the sailboats with decorations sometimes very worked!

A guest and women

The neighboring island of St. Barth had sent this year the dinghy OUANALAO Antigua Medical Caribbean. The Saint-Barth Yacht Club wants to develop traditional sailing on its island. The tour was therefore an opportunity to rub shoulders with the competition.

The number of female crews is still on the rise. 44 women sailed on the TGVT in 2016, representing 17% of competitors. For this reason, the organizers decided to launch this year a special prize rewarding the best 100% female crew at the end of the tour. The trophy was won by the TI BIJOU crew of Ofélia Cruces.
