A fictional novel about a navigation in Corsica that goes wrong

"Tragic crossing" is the story of a fictional navigation towards Corsica which turns vinegar. A novel about ordinary boaters like you and me. To read during the holidays.

At the editorial office, we sometimes receive books that make us want to plunge directly into it, to immerse ourselves in it. "Jean-Claude Michel's"Traversée Tragique" is one of them. No doubt because the approach is simple, because history is close to us, because it is very easy to identify with it.

Marc and Claire are a visibly happy couple. Happy to have a sailboat in a Mediterranean port and to be able to take advantage of it for their holidays. But this summer, as the book begins with the inevitable traffic jams of the big starts, everything will go wrong. And the cruise in Corsica usually in the form of canned sailing with another friendly sailboat, will turn into a crazy race dotted with unscrupulous traffickers and tenacious customs officers.

The reading is simple, effective without frills, but it leads us to the pursuit of this couple without us wanting to let go of the book (personally, I read it in one evening!). The details of life on board, the anchoring manoeuvres, the explanations on the clutter of the creeks in Corsica, the problem of holding the anchor, the pleasure of a good tack under sail, are as much pleasure that the author shares with the reader. Obviously the author dragged his keel quite a bit between the Var coast and Corsica to tell with precision the crossing of the Corsican continent and the stops on the Island of Beauty.

Printed by the author (on the Book on Demand website), here is a small book ideal for this summer in the cockpit at anchor or in the evening in the saloon that we can share with all the family or friends.
