Support Jean Le Cam in his participation in the Vendée Globe

He has not missed an edition of the Vendée Globe since 2004 - where he finished 7 hours after Vincent Riou, winner of the edition. However, King Jean is not sure to participate in this 2016 edition due to a lack of sponsors. To seduce, he launched a major participatory fundraising campaign.

Collect 360,000 euros to prepare the boat

Falling into it when he was a child, Jean Le Cam is one of his great sailors from the world of ocean racing. Solitaire du Figaro, Vendée Globe, Transat Jacques Vabre, Route du Rhum, Barcelona World Race, multihull, Imoca, Figaro Bénéteau... Whatever the race and the boat, Jean has tested everything in his 40 year career!

While he has registered and qualified for the next Vendée Globe (6 November 2016), Jean Le Cam is still looking for a sponsor. He has already bought the boat with which he competed in the Barcelona World Race and with which Michel Desjoyeaux won the 2008-2009 Vendée Globe, the former Foncia, the 2007 Farr plan. Missing are those who will write their names on the hull and sails of his Imoca. Faced with the mobilization of sea enthusiasts, friends, relatives, admirers... on the networks, the sailor decided to launch a major crowfunding campaign. "Since we can't find partners in the classic way, then we're going to do it in the unconventional way "exclaims the sailor in his video.

To prepare his boat, Jean Le Cam launches a participatory fundraising campaign on the KissKissBang platform with the objective of recovering 360,000 euros in 43 days. This sum will be used to finance half of the ship's equipment. This amount will therefore have to be supplemented by companies that want to take part in the "#yeswecam" adventure! In the event that the budget is not fully met, it will be used to finance other projects: Transat Jacques Vabre, Route du Rhum..

Unfailing support from his fellow sailors

On the video, some of the great names in sailing show their desire to see Jean Le Cam take the start of his 4 e Vendée Globe at their side. Thus, François Gabart confides "Jean is part of the Vendée Globe race, he has such experience on the water and at sea that he is now an essential sailor who can do very beautiful things in the Vendée Globe Vincent Riou adds "If it wasn't for him this year, he would certainly be missing something."

Roland Jourdain, a well-known architect in the sailing world, goes even further by indicating that "a Vendée globe without Jean Le Cam is like a Brittany without a high tide, Port-La-Forêt without more than a boat on pontoons, it's misery what!"
