Queen Bee, the superyacht who thinks he's a bee

A young Turkish yacht designer presented his bee-shaped superyacht concept at the Avrasia Boat Show (Istanbul). The imagination really has no limits!

Emre Aydin, a Turkish yacht designer has come up with a superyacht with a rather unusual design. "Queen Bee", that's its name, is a 144 feet yacht with black and yellow colors. To design it, the designer was inspired by the bee, as its name and colors indicate. But he pushed the concept even further! Behind the railings of the different decks, large bee wings protect the interior of the boat from outside view and on the roof of the upper deck, two antennas and two black balls (radomes) imitate the head of the insect.

Queen Bee can accommodate 10 people in several cabins fitted out in the greatest comfort. The owner's suite is located on the upper deck. The owner can choose between three or four cabins on the lower deck. The boat can also accommodate 7 crew members.

On the lower deck, the hull on the starboard side (and presumably the one on the port side) opens to the sea to create a bathing platform on the water. This space allows access to the tender garage.

The superyacht will be equipped with two MAN engines for a maximum speed of 21 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots.

Emre Aydin is currently a final year student of boat and yacht design at the Turkish University of Maltepe. He was able to present this intriguing design at the Avrasia Boat Show 2016 in Istanbul.
