Amartec, the silent mooring damper

For efficient and quiet damping, the Amartec offers an in-house solution from the imagination of its designer/user.

A mooring damper meets certain criteria. In his search for the ideal product for his sailboat, Romain Vallier ended up designing his own shock absorber andâ?¦ marketing it.

No metal parts

Often spring-loaded shock absorbers end up rusting and/or being noisy. Ports do not like to use shackles or pieces of chain to attach to the cleats of pontoons. Indeed, between steel and aluminum, electrolysis eventually forms.

To solve this problem, the Amartec is made of rubber material (anti-UV treated) and rope. No metal parts.

Effort transfer

The Amartec works in compression. The principle is to transform the forces (F) generated by the traction on the mooring line into a perpendicular force Y. This transfer of force is carried out by means of a rope arranged in a double figure of eight (pantograph principle). The more the rope loop is pulled, the more it compresses the rubber part of the shock absorber.

Absorbing jolts

The Amartec fulfills its role as a mooring line shock absorber by absorbing the impact on the mooring lines. The innovative design with crushed rubber allows for linear damping and no end-stop at the end of the stroke.

The Amartec can also be used on the anchor chain or for mooring on a mooring line.

The Amartec is available on the designer's website in 3 sizes:

Boat of less than 9 meters or 3 tons = 48,00 euros

Boat from 9 to 10,5 meters or 3 to 5 tons = 56,00 euros

Boat from 10,5 to 12 meters or 5 to 8 tons = 67,00 euros
