Sécuricool, anti-burglary for open porthole!

In good weather, closing the portholes when leaving the boat is not compatible with good ventilation of the cabin. The Securicool allows air to pass through, but prevents burglary.

It was at the request of a long-distance sailor that MPI devised a solution to lock a deck porthole in the open position. Without going to the end of the world, it is not uncommon, in good weather, to want to ensure the safety of your boat while keeping the cabin ventilated. Whether you want to leave the boat or even to sleep peacefully.

The Securicool is a kind of sliding clamp whose moving part is locked with a padlock. A rigid rubber pad prevents scratching the porthole and maintains compression between the two parts. The stainless steel plate is 10 cm high and the part in the cabin is locked to the window frame. Once in place, it is impossible to open the deck hatch without removing the padlock. The opening left is 11 cm, which corresponds to the distance between the two sides of a standard rung.

This product, which will be launched at the paris Boat Show (Hall 2.1, Stand A24) will be available at 149 euros with a 15% trade fair discount until 31 January 2015.

Like all products in the MPI range, the Securicool is designed and manufactured in France (Loire and Cher). Since 1997, this manufacturer has become the reference in marine stainless steel with a range of hoops and brackets adaptable to all boats.
