The Faucoaldi F430 dinghy, was born from the meeting of Patrick Nezry - who was looking for a boat built in wood, beautiful, accessible and easy to use âeuros and Benoit de Faucal, a young architect just out of school, who had drawn an attractive concept. After four years of development and the birth of a first prototype, with a too heavy structure, the F430 was born last year. " We managed to develop something quite beautiful, easy to handle and accessible, while remaining in the category of wooden sailing dinghies" explains Patrick Nezry.

The F430 is built in red cedar, using strip planking, one of the oldest methods of shipbuilding. "It's a very robust technique, very old and very easy to use, and it gives boats with a very precise hull shape," explains Patrick Nezry. This 4.30 m wooden dinghy is designed for leisure and pleasure, for sheltered waters or indoor basins. It is designed for single or double-handed sailing, or even for two adults with a child. Its simple and minimalist fittings allow a quick launching and an easy navigation accessible to all. Her cockpit is clear and allows for easy circulation and her generous freeboard hull protects the crew from spray while the marked chine softens heeling movements. " She has a very nice line on the water, which protects her crew well. It's a boat that works very well, that doesn't drag." adds Patrick.*

The F430 is, above all, easy to use. " It has only 2 ends, a headsail and a mainsail and the rudder is automatic." It is designed in France, except for the teak deck. "The wood comes from French forests, as well as the sails which are very well designed and are produced by a master sailmaker."
Today, to buy your F430, you have to go directly to the Faucoaldi shipyard. "We don't have a distribution network" says Patrick.
Recycle your 420
Owners of the 420 can purchase the hull of the F430 and install their mast, rudder and rigging. The Faucoaldi yard can also recover their 420 hull and recycle it.
A dinghy version in kit
In order to make the boat accessible to the greatest number and even less expensive, the shipyard is preparing a kit version, still in strip-planking. The owners will only have to assemble their F430.

Upcoming projects
Today, the shipyard is working on a motor-boat and a day-boat, still based on the same philosophy: beautiful, simple and accessible.
