The fleet is expanding at Royal Carribean

This Monday, April 13, Royal Carribean International officially received its 23rd ship. Anthem of the Seas, built by Meyer Werft shipyards, is one of the most technological ships in the world.

She belongs to the Quantum class, and is the sister ship of Quantum of Seas . As a reminder, this class of ship offers activities never seen on board a ship such as " skydiving, a thrilling adventure where passengers will soar more than 200 feet for a breathtaking journey through the air; revolutionary and innovative venues including the largest sports and entertainment complex at sea with bumper cars, a roller rink and more; and finally, the largest and most advanced cabins ever designed by the line. These new, larger cabins leave more room for innovation in design, storage and comfort with, for example, the first virtual balconies in the cruise industry."

Anthem of the Seas has 16 passenger decks, with a gross tonnage of 167,800 tons; it will carry 4,180 passengers in double occupancy, distributed among 2,090 cabins.

A ship with activities never seen before

It benefits from all the innovations and know-how of Royal Carribean, both in its architecture and its services. "We are constantly trying to rethink our ships in successive builds and Anthem of the Seas is a perfect example." said Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. CEO and President Richard D. Fain. Anthem of the Seas will be dedicated to cruises in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

It will leave from Southampton, in the United Kingdom, which will be its home port until October, to sail in the Mediterranean and the Canaries. She will be inaugurated in her home port on April 20, in front of 1300 guests. In November, it will move to its permanent home port, New York, from where it will sail to Bermuda, the Caribbean, Canada and New England.

Onboard, passengers will enjoy many innovative activities. The North Star Observatory is a glass gondola that rises more than 200 feet above the ocean to provide an exceptional panoramic view. The RipCord by iFLY is a free fall simulator. FlowRider is an artificial wave platform for surfers.

New places will welcome passengers such as Two70, a lounge during the day that becomes a multimedia showroom in the evening. The Sea Plex is a place that allows multiple activities. It can be used as a bumper car or roller skating rink, become a basketball court or even serve as a circus school.

Passengers will be able to choose their meal from one of the 18 restaurants along the Royal Esplanade. Entertainment will take place at the Music Hall and the Royal Theater
